Learning of the year: do what’s most important
Have you ever been stuck in your head, thinking about doing something important -emailing someone, thinking about your next task to do, thinking about a conversation that you need to have and how it unfolds?
You then have two options: act on it, or repress it.
The issue with repression is that it will come up again. And the more it comes up, the more you’ll not want to do it, the more this event will be emotionally charged, and the more you’ll want to escape from it - distracting yourself with other tasks, stopping to work altogether, going on social media, or whatever your distraction strategy is.
My principle is simple: do what’s most important, first.
Actually, do what’s most important, always.
Because it’s that task which you procrastinate which will actually ruin your self-esteem in the long-term. Don’t let it do that.
PS: The same applies to any thought that feels right to you.
For example, I often recognize myself thinking to say something to someone else while being next to them, but I just say it in my head. And then I doubt myself whether to say it. And then time passes. And then it becomes irrelevant. And ultimately, nothing comes out - apart of that feeling of awkwardness.
Here too, even if time has passed, you must bring it out if it feels true. Because the alternative is to live in silence, in absence of interaction, a state nothing less than of a shadow of yourself.
Launching: WOW - and a 24H DJ MARATHON 🎶
I’m teaming up with my friend Virginia Scapinelli to launch WOW – a community, incubator & residency for electronic music artists.
Like many musicians (myself included), there are countless talents out there who have the creativity but struggle to find the time, resources, or structure to truly push their musical projects forward.
That’s where WOW comes in.
This November in Lisbon, we’ll host the first electronic music incubator for a dozen hand-picked artists who are reinventing the electro scene – experimenting with new venues, live performances, AI, and even music x wellbeing.
The program will culminate in a live showcase to give these artists the stage (and spotlight) they deserve. 🎶✨
And that’s just the beginning…
🔥 We’re also hosting a 24h DJ MARATHON – 12 DJs streaming back-to-back sets from around the world in one non-stop, global event. Join us on October 11th!
PS: We’re still scouting DJs and electronic musicians for both the incubator (first spots are free!) and the marathon. You can apply to join here.
Quotes of the Week

“Exploration can’t entail an expectation of what to encounter.” - just me
